Digital online store

Creating a website for a online store which sells custom digital download designs. The aim of this project is to design and develop an e-commerce website, with an easy to use content management system so users can upload and manage the store easily without much technical knowledge.  

CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

For this project, I chose WordPress (WooCommerce) as the content management system. WordPress offers extensive customization options for e-commerce, enabling the sale of both physical and digital products. Its flexibility allows for easy expansion through a variety of plugins, ensuring scalability for future needs.

DESIGN PROCESS

My design process began with extensive research into existing online digital download stores, aligning with the project's objectives. By compiling a list of requirements, I ensured the final product would meet both user needs and business goals. Inspired by current e-commerce trends, I opted for a minimalist yet vibrant design. The color scheme, consisting of black, yellow, and white, was chosen strategically to evoke feelings of happiness and creativity, while maintaining a clean and modern aesthetic.

LOW FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

Utilising Adobe XD, I created prototypes to map out the user experience before implementation. This iterative process allowed for thorough planning and refinement of the website's UX design, ensuring a seamless and intuitive browsing experience for users.

Design Showcase

Homepage Header Designs

Exploring various homepage header designs was a crucial part of the design process. These designs were carefully crafted to provide flexibility for the shop owner to update the homepage easily. Each design was evaluated based on its ability to capture attention and convey the brand's identity effectively.

Final Product Enhancements

In the final product, I incorporated additional colors to inject a sense of fun and creativity. These pops of color complemented the existing design elements, making the website more engaging and visually appealing to the target audience. By balancing vibrancy with minimalism, the website achieved a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetics.

By combining strategic design choices with meticulous planning and execution, this project successfully delivered a user-friendly and visually captivating e-commerce website.
